New Album • Upcoming SF Shows…

Hi friendo,

Hope this finds you in peak form. We wanted to gently remind you with rainbows and kittens that our new album “Black Dream” is now out everywhere online for your listening and perusing pleasure! Here’s what the critics are saying…

“‘Black Dream’ fits in nicely with anyone’s collection, the melodies and instrumentation sometimes remind you of the feel of 60′s pop. This is not a retro group, however, by any means. A modern rock foundation with pop sensibilities. The instrumentation is intriguing. It pulls you in and keeps you listening. There is a cohesive sound, yet the sound is not redundant. This is an album I can listen to from start to finish without skipping a track. My only complaint is that it ended too soon…” – Power Population Album Review

“A young indie-rock band who take classic rock stylings and bring them into The New Millennium – that’s Dangermaker. Lots of energy, cool, dark, angular melodies is their forte, and they’re doing it very well right now!” – David Bash, IPO San Francisco

“This is a real rock and roll album. Like in the movies.” – Uncle Farkus Album Review

Wonder what movies he’s been watching… Spinal Tap? Josie and the Pussycats? Anyway you can stream the album and see for yourself on Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and god knows where else…

The D-Tour to SXSW • Arizona Redemption…

We logged another 15+ hour drive in the wagon from Austin across west Texas to our show Sunday night at The Rogue Bar in Scottsdale, AZ. Austin was great but we were glad to be done with Texas driving in the Rock-V with CA plates, got pulled over twice for reasons unknown, all us Californians are big potheads you know…

We rolled into Phoenix Sunday evening with low expectations, as our last show here a year ago was a fucking nightmare in 120 degree heat at someone’s shitty rehearsal room. Pete had to stand in the kitchenette. The Rogue Bar redeemed itself though, all the bands on the bill and everyone there at the bar wanted the Rock & Roll and it was just a fun night. After party at Japanese Large’s house and made some new friends with Lost Coves, New York Rifles, and the Oxford Coma, thanks so much for the hospitality guys, hard to find that on the road…

Next stop Las Vegas for a few days of R & R and our final show of the tour…

The D-Tour to SXSW • Austin!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Austin and SXSW, and wow all of them are true! Our few nights there were truly overwhelming, there is just so much happening at any given time. Walking down 6th St is a wall of sound coming from every possible direction. We saw new bands I can’t remember the names of, people playing in the middle of the street through power generators, pupeteers like Mr. Bonetangles (google him!), and then through a fence or a window you’ll see someone like The Cult or the Temper Trap or Jack White (!) playing too. it’s like Mardi Gras for musicians…

We played an outdoor stage for the Heart of Texas Rockfest, never played outside in the middle of the day before, our songs seem to fit better in dark clubs late at night, but nevertheless people seemed to dig it. After, we wandered 6th St handing out CDs, then headed down to Iron Works for some Texas BBQ which was deeelicious…

As much as we wanted to stay much longer we had to make another 15 hr drive to Scottsdale, AZ, so we piled back into the wagon and started the long desolate haul back across west Texas…

The D-Tour to SXSW • Santa Fe, who knew!

After a horrendously long 15 hour drive through the Sahara desert, we rolled into Santa Fe with enough time to set up and play our acoustic set at The Cowgirl Cafe. We were a little bit leary of the venue, sounded more like a country bar, and we don’t always fit in too well at country bars. But the place was packed and everyone was so friendly! Especially to Dave! And the “game burger” was fucking great. Guess you can never prejudge can you…

After a fun night playing with the supercool Patty Fiasco and drinking with new found friends, we checked out the town a little which is one of the oldest in the US actually, had no idea. We started on the next looong drive to Austin, which would take us south
through Roswell and desolate parts of New Mexico and west Texas. Johnny Cash come to mind out here. Walmart, stripmalls and truck stops…

We drove through the night and rolled into Austin around 5am to be greeted the next morning by our gracious host Sarah with a little tambo, or actually a big tambo! SXSW here we come…

The D-Tour to SXSW • first stop LA…

Us four Dangermakers hit the road Monday morning in a rented 28ft RV (Rockreational Vehicle) on our journey to SXSW. We got a late start and hit some traffic on the way from SF to LA, which got us to the Viper Room in the nick of time to load, set up, and go! After a guitar amp crap-out during the entire first song we got our shit together and played a solid set all things considered. Thanks to Dayle & the Viper Room crew for putting on the show, and thanks to all our family and friends who showed up to make it a fun night! Mom snapped a pic below…

We spent the next day roaming around Venice beach before playing an early happy hour set at Skinny’s in NoHo. Afterwards we wandered across the street to a small comedy club for dinner and out of nowhere Chris “Smokey” Tucker rolls in and does free stand up for a while, fucking great! Dude sounds like he’s had some issues lately, but still a funny guy, taxes or no taxes…

We hit the road again that night to start the loooong drive to Santa Fe for our show tonight at the Cowgirl. Drove till 2:30 am, saw the biggest moon ever, almost ran over some kind of a wolf, slept at a rest stop. Woke up next to a van full of pitbull breeders, must have been 15 in there, glad I left my chihuahua at home…

And now we drive
